The Campground.  (Click HERE for campground map) These were some of the best RV sites!   Each site was built out out on side of a hill so you felt like you had a lot of privacy. Downfall, was that there were very few  50 amp sites.  Restrooms had washer and dryer.  Restrooms were clean but only had two showers.  Camp hosts were super responsive and friendly they monitored the campground a lot by driving by and golf carts and checking in on the residence.  We had great cable reception and OK Wi-Fi.  We now have jet packs and boosters so I am sure this would be workable now.

Water Access- This is a 105 acre Lake and there is an official boat launch for flat bottom boats, kayaks and canoes that is about 1.5 miles from the campground.. When we were there the lake is having some issues because of Dam repairs.   However we still were able to kayak with no problem. Effective 5/26/2019–> The lake is now full but fishing and swimming is still not allowed due to continued dam repairs.  You are allowed to bring your own kayak.  The state park website said that you can get in free at High Falls if you are camping at this park.  There is lake access from some of the campsites down to the lake and there were some public access trails from the campground that previous people created…but in some areas it was rather steep and not the most user friendly access that we have utilized.

Hiking Trails- Here is the Park Map AND Trail Map.  There was no distinct trail from the campground to the overland nature trail so you will walk on the camp road a bit to get to the trail area which is about  1- 1  1/2 miles from the campsite to the start of any trails.  Keith really really enjoyed Dauset trails at the Dauset Nature Center. Keith thought the  Indian Springs Trail that was a 3.5 mile connector trail Dauset Nature Center was the best part of his biking at this park.

Special Interest- The area is renowned for being a mecca of of wellness in the past by having a sulfur Spring were people drink from it to him to cure illnesses and that string spring still exists.  Here is a link to the History of the Park if that is something you are interested in.  Also, you can bring a container and get it filled at the spring.  Also, nearby  there’s a wonderful check in area with a cute shop and lots of doo dads.  There are there’s restaurants and general stores within easy walking distance just outside the park.
