We are recent empty nesters traveling the US in a RV. The past three years we have focused our travel adventures closer to our home in South Georgia…and now the rest of the United States is our oyster!!!

  1. This a lifestyle blog for ANYONE in general wishing to do more active things outdoors – in a camper, in a tent, in a hotel or a day trip. However, we do take the perspective of a couple that has no children at home anymore, no large overhead, and able to work remotely part-time. You will find our Camping Section informative with the emphasis on biking, hiking and paddling in our reviews.
  2. This is also a Health and Wellness blog for the over 50 crowd because …. BECAUSE we are both over 50 years old! These are the crucial years to help all of us sail better into our 80’s. Practicing and implementing the recommended lifestyle for Alzheimer, Heart Disease and Arthritis prevention can be a full time job in itself. Keith will weed through all the data and research and share the most important aspects of the golden years of our life to create, maintain and invest in good health. Keith and I will both be putting our education and experience to good use by providing you with insightful, relevant research based posts that promote better nutrition, fitness, mental health for the over 50 crowd as the target audience.

It took us 5 years of planning and small steps toward implementation to be able to be semi retired at our age effective December 31, 2018. Trust me… It was an experience of letting go! Not only of material things (more on that later). but also letting go of what others thought and our own preconceived notions. We have rearranged our whole life to be able to do the things we love on a daily basis INSTEAD of working to maintain a lifestyle that was not fulfilling for us. We lived for weekends, so we could go out and play. Is it worth it? YES… we are having a blast.

Our belief system and our actions finally feel aligned. How many people can actually say that nowadays? The path we are traveling is about defining what is truly important to us and making THAT a priority in our life. Because you never know the ability to make choices will end. We all know someone who is “waiting to do x,y,z when the kids are in school, when there a bit more money, when all the bills are paid, when we retire….the list goes on”. Regret can be the biggest motivator but is that not how we want to live our life.

We invite you to ” TRAVYL” with us down the road to better health, wellness and joy in your everyday life.
